Thomas Tuchel Questions Wembley Crowd Support Despite Dominant Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel shared his disappointment that the Three Lions team did not enjoy greater support from the Wembley spectators during their impressive friendly win against Wales on Thursday night.

The manager was satisfied to see his side maintain their winning momentum, with strikes from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the first 20 minutes deciding the contest. But, he was displeased with the atmosphere at the national stadium.

“With limited sessions to get ready against a well-trained team and we performed excellently,” the coach stated. “We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth goals. It was quiet. We didn’t get support back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“How much more can you give in 20 minutes? We prevented them get away. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s regrettable because the squad deserved more support today.”

“I support my words. We cannot do more than leading 3-0 in a derby. I would have wished for a bit more backing in periods where it gets difficult.”

“After halftime, to get behind us, there was excessive support for Wales. It might have aided us to refocus, but that’s the way it went and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Display

Apart from risking a fight with fans, the manager also caused a stir by excluding Bellingham and Phil Foden from his squad. However the choice was justified by Morgan Rogers impressing again in the No 10 position and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel noted. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is fighting for his position.”

Wales Manager Seeks Lessons from Loss

The Wales manager hopes that Wales, who face a strong Belgian side in a key World Cup qualifier on Monday, learn from their poor first-half display.

“This is why I wanted this game,” Bellamy said. “I need to see where we are. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? Today gives me inspiration.”

Injury Concern for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was taken off at the break after clattering into a post and may miss out when England play their next opponents in the Latvian capital in a World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.
